We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead the financial operations of our commercial cleaning business. As the Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's financial strategy, driving growth, and ensuring financial stability and profitability. This position requires strong financial acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to provide actionable insights to support decision-making at the executive level.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Develop and oversee the company's financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modelling.
  • Analyse financial performance and key metrics to provide insights and recommendations to the executive team for strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and risks that may impact financial performance.

Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including the board of directors, investors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.

Capital Management and Investment Strategy

  • Manage the company's capital structure, including debt financing, equity investments, and working capital management.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships to support growth objectives and enhance shareholder value.
  • Optimize capital allocation decisions to maximize return on investment and minimize cost of capital.

Financial Operations and Systems

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
  • Implement and maintain financial systems, processes, and controls to streamline operations and ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance productivity and scalability.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Assess financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to protect the company's assets and financial interests.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to financial transactions and reporting.
  • Monitor and manage insurance coverage, contracts, and legal agreements to minimize exposure to financial liabilities.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a leadership role within the commercial cleaning industry or related service sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis software.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles, with a leadership position.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, or strategic planning is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for business meetings, conferences, or industry events.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
