Job Description:

LonAdd HR Consultancy Plc (www.lonadd.com) is a Recruitment & Outsourcing Company based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with branch offices in Dukem and Hawassa. We are looking to recruit a qualified-on Human Resources Officer for our client Tulu Kapi Gold Mine.

Job Purpose

The role is responsible for all human resources functions at Tulu Kapi. The role requires overall execution of multiple tasks in all human resources activities, and demands high levels of professional acumen, integrity, and professionalism.

During the Company’s Project implementation phase the Human Resources Officer will focus on the establishment of a professional human resources function and support the current management team in driving and managing the implementation of the Project Workplan while ensuring the development of sound employee relations.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Reviewing of existing Role Descriptions and the development of new Role Descriptions with due consideration to job specifications and clear accountabilities.
  • Contributing to the development of Company Policies and Procedures and related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Developing rigorous, practical and compliant recruitment and selection strategies including sourcing channels.
  • Managing and/or supporting the recruitment process, including candidate and vendor management and internal communication.
  • Coordinating visa/work permit applications for foreign nationals to commence or resume duties on expected commencement dates.
  • Drafting of full employment lifecycle employee related correspondence.
  • Coordinating and facilitating the onboarding and induction of new employees.
  • Building Human Resources (HR) capabilities of line leaders on various HR processes.
  • Assisting in Employee Relations matters as required.
  • Maintaining document control systems, both electronic and hard copy filing, to auditable standards.
  • Coordinating Workforce Planning and Project resourcing as per the Project Implementation and Operational Readiness Plans.
  • Preparing internal and external reports as required.

Job Requirements:

Key Skills/Experience Required

  • At least 10 years’ generalist experience in the Human Resources discipline of which 5 years should have been in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience on a Greenfields project implementation will be a distinct advantage.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a recognised Bachelor’s Degree in the Human Resources field.
  • A post-graduate qualification and/or completion of a formal supervisory/managerial development programme will be an advantage.

Language Requirements

  • English speaking and writing.
  • Afaan Oromo speaking and writing.
  • Amharic speaking.
