Job Description:

BASICFUNCTIONS

Special Needs Education Coordinator is responsible to provide advices  to the school’s vice principals , teaching staff and other administrative Staff on all legal issues related to special education policies, procedures and services. Advises parents and provides information regarding special education and related. Supervises all special education delivery to include monitoring the implementation of all IEP services for fidelity of instructional model and trains, evaluates and supports the special education teaching staff.

Provides generalists and special education teachers with strategies and tools for developing and implementing special education curriculum supports. Included are special education lesson plans, special education activities, and other materials for academic instruction.

Job Requirements:

PERSONALLY PERFORMED RESPONSIBILITIES

I. Consultation

1.      Advices the school’s Vice principals and other Administrative Staff on all legal issues related to special education policies, procedures and services.

2.      Advises all teaching staff on the legally required provision of services in the general education and special education settings.

3.      Advises parents and provides information regarding special education and related service provisions.

II. Supervision:

1.      Supervises all special education delivery to include monitoring the implementation of all IEP services for fidelity of instructional model.

2.       Supervises trains, evaluates and supports the branch special education coordinators.

      III. Compliance and Monitoring:

1.      Reviews and revise policies and procedures as needed for the implementation of IEP accommodations, modifications and interventions for monitoring special education and related services.

IV. Other Supports For Special Education Staff

·Accommodation and Environment:

1.      Helps general and special education teachers with instructional and environmental accommodations and supports, such as assessment accommodation, special education classroom setup, accommodations for disabilities.

Curriculum Support

1.     Provides generalists and special education teachers with strategies and tools for developing and implementing special education curriculum supports. IEP (Individualized Education Plan) Resources

1.      Approves and follows up IEP special education resources for general education teachers, special education teachers, and parents, all the IEP forms, accommodations, strategies, and advice necessary for planning and implementing an Individualized Education Plan in specialist resource rooms.

  Special Education Inclusion

1.     Uses various techniques, tips, and suggestions for promoting special education inclusion in an integrated general education classrooms.     Behavior Management

1.      Provides special education behavior management resources to plan and implement behavior management strategies in integrated and special education classrooms.

Other Duty

Performs other duties as may be assigned to him/her by his /her supervisor

V. Student Support Team Branch’s performance Evaluation + Principal +Vice Principals +Professional Development +Dean of  Students +SST

1.      Develops and update Job description of branch SST coordinators as required;

2.      Develops relevant KPI’s;

3.      Evaluates on a regular basis based on their performance and customer  feedback as provided through School Administrators;

4.      Takes corrective measures;
