Currently, we are seeking to hire a Research Associate for our Agriculture and Rural Development (ARD) Business Unit. The Research Associate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and administration of various project undertakings. The development of various research proposals, research reports, research methodologies, and project management while ensuring client satisfaction is met.

General Duties and Responsibilities of the Research Associate:

  • Assisting the ARD team to produce winning research and consultancy proposals;
  • Support the coordination and management of research projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and client requirements;
  • Assist in the development of research plans, determine appropriate methodologies, and design data collection instruments such as surveys, interviews, and focus group discussion checklists, etc.;
  • Develop standard training materials for enumerator training and coordinate the provision of the training in consultation with other team members;
  • Oversee data collection processes, support data analysis using statistical software;
  • Prepare detailed field implementation reports, and contribute/support the research team in developing the project report;
  • Ensure accuracy, reliability, and integrity of research data, methodologies, and analysis techniques in collaboration with other team members;
  • Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive research data.
  • Participate in fieldwork activities, such as conducting on-site observations or interviews.
  • Participates in the documentation and dissemination of lessons learned;
  • Represent Frontieri in various meetings and conferences;
  • Follow-up clients to ensure client satisfaction; contribute towards a remarkable service excellence and establishment of a long-lasting client relationship;
  • Assisting to develop research proposals for relevant research grants;
  • Work closely with other divisions and teams of Frontieri;
  • Prepare monthly plans and performance reports;
  • Make sure that organizational core values, policies, and procedures are clearly understood and adhered to in the daily functioning, and
  • Handle all other activities as required by the immediate supervisor;
Job Requirements:

Qualification and Experience:

  • BA/BSc or MSc/MA in Agricultural Sciences; Agricultural Economics; Economics; Environment and Natural Resource Management; Project Management; Animal Science; Development Studies; and related fields.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in research or a related field (e.g., data analysis, market research).
  • Experience with statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with International and National Research and consultancy institutes is an added advantage;

Knowledge;

  • Knowledge in either quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research approaches;
  • Skills in analytical software (SPSS, STATA, R) is a plus
  • Good knowledge of study designs, sampling techniques, and sample size determination;

Technical and other skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Good skills for facilitating projects, field works
  • Good skill managing and coaching field staff members
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
