Job Description:

Ethiopian Construction Design and Supervision Works Corporation (ECDSWCo.) is transforming and diversifying from the current consultancy business operations. Taking advantage of the existing ECDSWCo.’s strength and maximizing on the newly emerging external opportunities that are being prevalent with the shifts in Ethiopian Economic Policy – the Corporation is aiming to play a significant role to the success of the Ethiopian Construction Industry -by creating a vibrant business institution that will not only fill the gap that is in the current construction industry, but also replace the need for having international construction companies that are dominating the government mega scale projects. To this, the Corporation is emerging as an Engineering and Investment Group. The proposed name of the Group is  ‘’Ethiopian Engineering and Investment Group (EEIG)’’. The Group will comprise of three main operational business units i.e., Consultancy, Construction and Investment. EEIG-Construction business unit key activities are high-end complex construction projects, predominately highrise commercial and residential buildings, real-estate; infrastructure (roads, railways and airports) & water and energy sector construction. EEIG-Construction alone would grow into a conglomerate of several business units including Piling, underground and foundation Works, Fit-Out, Energy (Solar Solutions), Electro- Mechanical Solution, Facility Management, Landscape and Construction Materials Production. EEIG Construction is launched with the vision of being the best construction company in Ethiopia with a strategy of Timeously executing high-end complex projects, by utilizing proactive management skills as a Design and Build Contractor in order to achieve an optimum return and aspiring to be a competitive and preferred choice that can replace the current dependence on international contractors and deliver excellence. Position Overview/Scope of role:

Work on getting /purchasing the best quality with the best price within the target dates from the suppliers and registering new subcontractors /suppliers when needed. Prepare tender, and float to supplier /subcontract.

The Procurement Engineer investigates the market with specifications and performance requirements for MEP Material, analyses technical and commercial data based on the responses received, and re-iterates with bidders, recommending those most desirable using tools like bid comparison tables/ BOQs.

Top Roles and Responsibilities:

· Handling efficiently all the procurement activities related to , Fire Fighting, Electrical, ELV Systems, ICT materials, electronics, etc.
•To procure equipment, materials & systems complying with project Quality and Specification requirements.

• To procure materials and subcontract promptly within approved budgeted cost.

· Compare vendors’ offers financially

• Before ordering, check all ex-stock availability in central stores and sub-stores.
• To ensure timely delivery of equipment, material & systems to support site installation works as per the approved work program

• All procurement processes should comply with management-approved procedures and policies concerning time, cost, and quality.

• Prepare documentation for internal process as per ISO Standards.

• Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

• Maintain company reputation & credibility through fair dealings and prompt payment.

. To procure materials and subcontract promptly within approved budgeted cost. 

·  Must be familiar with IEC, DIN (VDE), NEC, UMC, and UPC with the ability to render services, design, and estimate per the mentioned code

. Negotiate with subcontractors technically, to ensure the compliance of the officer with all project requirements as mentioned in the RFQ.

. Negotiate with supplier /subcontractor to reach the optimum price with the required specifications.

. Coordinate with the site the on-time delivery.

. Follow up on the approval of the materials submitted.

. Keep track of all supplier’s/subcontractor’s performance.

. Visit sites, suppliers, and factories regularly and when needed.

Job Requirements:

.  Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.

 . Minimum of 4 years’ experience of which 2 years experience in building installations and 2 years in procurement /Sales

·  Strong Communication skills

·  Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
