Job Description:
sequa gGmbH is a globally operating non-profit development organization. Since 1991, sequa has carried out programs and projects of international cooperation in close collaboration with the German private sector. sequa offers know-how and long-term experience in capacity development for chambers and associations (BMOs), vocational education and training, private sector development and trade promotion. The organization is based in Bonn, Germany. sequa employs more than 100 persons (2023) and reported a turnover of EUR 71 Mio in 2022.
The Project:
Within the GIZ Program Special Initiative, "Decent Work for a Just Transition", sequa implements the "SME Grant Scheme targeting growth-orientated SMEs" project in Ethiopia. sequa aims to facilitate business growth and job creation of Ethiopian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by increasing their competitiveness and productivity so that their products and services will satisfy the demand on local and international markets. A specific focus will be provided on women-owned SMEs, job creation, and employability training for women. 
Benefiting companies receive flexible and demand-oriented funding (management consulting, technical training, financial competence/business plan development, qualification, applied research activities, etc.). A special focus will be on advisory services to improve access to finance. The grant scheme will contribute to SMEs' change management and business growth.
MMCY Tech is a talent company that offers Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Renewable Energy Solutions to various organizations. It is based in Ethiopia, with offices in the UAE and USA, and has over 600 employees. It provides services in software development, IT help desk support, cloud solutions, representation, and renewable energy. It also aims to empower the youth and create more job opportunities through its learning and development programs, which equip them with new skills and connect them with international clients. The grant will boost its learning and development department and enable it to recruit and upskill thousands of professionals.
This assignment aims to train the staff on soft skills vital for service quality, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. The training will help the staff work effectively and efficiently with each other and the customers. The training will also boost the staff's competence and confidence, creating a dynamic and proficient workforce.
Your Tasks / Responsibilities & Deliverables:
  • Assess the soft skills training needs and goals of the company;
  • Develop a training plan that aligns with the business objectives and covers relevant topics such as professionalism, problem-solving, cultural sensitivity, leadership and management, effective communication skills, teamwork, managing conflicts, attitudinal change for time audience, methods, and criteria;
  • Design and create engaging and interactive training materials/manuals that are customized for the target audience;
  • Deliver the training program to a large group of employees, potential candidates, and internal trainers using cost-effective and efficient technology;
  • Utilize e-learning platforms, virtual classrooms, and blended learning approaches to reach a broad audience;
  • Prepare engaging and informative video training materials;
  • Monitor and adjust the training program based on feedback, surveys, and data.
Assignment Period: April 2024 -August 2024
Working time scope: 25 days within the assignment period, and expandable depending on personal qualifications and needs of the assignment

Job Requirements:
Your Qualification / Skills:
  • University Degree in social studies/Education/Communication,/Leadership/Business, or other related fields; 
  • Ability to make decisions, excellent communication skills, alertness, self-confidence, emotional stability, flexibility and deep knowledge of industry/ attention to detail;
  • Fluent in English; 

Strong communication skills:

  • Computer literacy (MS Office);  
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills in English. 
Your Working Experience:
  • More than seven years of proven experience in soft skills & management training (especially experience developing and/or delivering corporate training;
  • Experience in providing training to companies with similar business models is preferred;
  • Experience in customer service or client support in an international outsourcing industry is mandatory.
