Ethio-Asian Industries SC, formerly known as East Africa Kality Soap and Detergent Factory, is located in the Eastern part of Addis Ababa, Kaliti. It is the first private sector soap and detergent factory established by well-known industrialist and EAHSC chairman Mr. Bizuayehu Tadele to manufacture Laundry soaps, Detergents, and Toilet soaps.

Ethio-Asia made a partnership agreement with Zoscales Partners (ZP) to meet its objective of becoming a strong player within the personal care space by aspiring to the right niche market of the lower and middle-income class of Ethiopia.

Given the continued growth and future expansion of EAISC, the following opportunity exists.

Job Purpose:

The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for expediting the day-to-day procurement activities. The Senior Officer is responsible for executing procurement plans, receiving purchase requisitions, allocating purchase requisitions to the Procurement Officer, reviewing the quotation collection process, reviewing bid analysis, preparing and executing supplier contract agreements, maintaining supplier information, performing supplier evaluations, and preparing performance reports.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide planning support and advice to those making a procurement request, then process and manage the procurement process in accordance with policies and procedures, in a transparent, accountable, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

· Organizing procurement tracking system and supporting program and management team with up-to-date and reliable information on the procurement status.

· Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.

· Compare suppliers' bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy.

· Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists.

·  Work with the supervisor to ensure that local market surveys are regularly carried out, to ensure a full knowledge of the availability and price of local items.

·  Determine if inventory quantities are enough for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.

· Ensure that all procurements are managed, tracked, and recorded.

· Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.

·  Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.

·  Maintain sufficient stock levels of all items for unhindered operations

·  Identify, and suggest items that should be part of a pre-approved tender process and ensure that open and free competition for procurements is adhered to.

·  Manage the maintenance of accurate filing systems, with documented and supported records of actions for audit purposes.

·  Analyze quotations and prepare bid analysis.

·  Follow up with suppliers to ensure prompt delivery.

·  Provide regular support to staff under the supervision of the procurement.

·  Establishing professional relationships with clients as well as vendors and suppliers.

·  Ensuring all stock is packaged appropriately and delivered to the correct location in a timely manner.

·  Collects Performa invoices in sealed envelopes upon receiving purchase requisitions

·  Prepare bid documents according to the detailed specifications.

·  Prepares and submits daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement reports to the supervisor.

·  Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Requirements:

Qualification:

BA Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting or any other related field of study.

Experience:

A minimum of 5-year relevant experience in FMCG industry. Foreign purchase experience is mandatory.
