- Job Description:
WVE is working closely with the government and other stakeholders in responding to the needs of the people affected by the conflict induced crises . Protection interventions includes; prevention and response to all forms of violence against children, prevention, mitigation and response to gender-based violence (GBV) and provision of mental health and psycho-social support for vulnerable children, women and other community groups. The primary function of the GBV & MHPSS coordinator is responsible to oversee the implementation of all world vision Ethiopia GBViE programs, ensuring that there is adequate staff capacity to deliver quality programming of projects throughout their cycles.
- leads the preparation of ongoing situation reports, periodic updates and analyses, by compiling and analyzing data, and related information on overall IDP and humanitarian crisis in the target areas, with a specific focus on GBViE, MHPSS and prepare written inputs accordingly to inform effective program planning, development and management.
- Undertakes regular field visits to project areas and IDP sites, to assess local conditions and monitor progress. Establishes contact with community groups and partners to keep abreast of emergency situation. Collect information; identify problems and constraints in order to ensure effective project delivery.

- Design, prepare, monitor and evaluate projects in the Protection . This includes working with existing WVE partners to strengthen GBV and MHPSS components of ongoing work and identifying new partners to take forward an expanded portfolio of WVE’s work on GBViE Monitor, analyses and evaluate project results to ensure achievement of objectives and take corrective action when necessary
- Provide technical support including capacity building trainings on GBV prevention and response and MHPSS area for case worker, case managers, WGFS facilitators and key government stake holders
- Job Requirements:
Required Professional Experience
minimum of five years' experience for BA and three years for MA graduates in, Gender-based violence, Child protection and related areas, program/project development and management in emergency context is required. Proven experience in designing and implementing GBVIE and MHPSS trainings to a variety of stakeholders. Direct case management and experience working with children, women and adolescents is an asset. Knowledge and experience on Gender Based Violence programming including prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), MPHPSS is required.
Required Education training, license, registration, and certification.
Extensive training in the fields of GBV, MHPSS, Case management and application of international technical guidelines
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
First degree in social work, sociology, psychology, public health and relevant fields of social sciences and five years of work experience or Masters degree in these fields and 3-year relevant work experience. Knowledge and skills of and ability to implement integrated CP responses, including Gender Based Violence. Awareness of or interest in community-based protection mechanisms.
Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
Frequent travel to the project sites and to NO as needed.
Language Requirements
Fluent in written and spoken English.
