Job Description:

sequa gGmbH is a globally operating non-profit development organization. Since 1991 sequa has carried out programs and projects of international cooperation in close collaboration with the German private sector. sequa offers know-how and long-term experience in capacity development for chambers and associations (BMOs), vocational education and training, private sector development and trade promotion. The organization is based in Bonn, Germany. sequa employs more than 100 persons (2022) and reported a turnover of EUR 58 m in 2021.

We are offering a project-based assignment as 

The Project

Within the GIZ Program Special Initiative "Decent Work for a Just Transition", sequa implements the "SME Grant Scheme targeting growth orientated SMEs" project in Ethiopia. With this, sequa aims to facilitate business growth and job creation of Ethiopian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by increasing their competitiveness and productivity so that their products and services will satisfy the demand on local and international markets. A specific focus will be provided for women-owned SMEs, job-creation, and employability training for women.

Benefiting companies receive flexible and demand-oriented funding (management consulting, technical training, financial competence / business plan development, qualification, applied research activities, etc.). A special focus will be on advisory services to improve access to finance. The grant scheme is expected to contribute to SMEs' change management and business growth.

Taskmoby is a web-based platform that connects businesses and individuals to local service providers for various tasks and projects. The platform is designed to make it easier for clients to find, book, and pay for services while also providing a reliable and efficient source of work for service providers. Hence, the reason for selecting the platform to be supported by the grant scheme is the potential to create job opportunities.

Taskmoby addresses the dual problems of finding reliable and trustworthy service providers and the convenience of accessing services. The platform achieves this by offering users a curated list of service providers with past reviews and ratings, ensuring that users can easily find a trustworthy service provider. Additionally, Taskmoby provides an app that allows users to book services quickly and easily from their smartphones, solving the problem of convenience in accessing services.

The platform offers various task categories, including home repairs, cleaning, plumbing, electricity, and more. Clients can search for specific services and locations and compare prices and ratings from providers in their area. Clients can then book a service request and communicate with the provider directly through the platform.

Your Tasks / Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Prepare a comprehensive evaluation report on the SME's investment readiness to secure a seed investment of $1M,
  • Provide a data room that includes all relevant information about the SME and prepare a pitch deck highlighting the unique value proposition,
  • Prepare a strategy document outlining potential questions that may arise during investor meetings and appropriate responses,
  • Coaching and follow-up of transaction support,
  • Assist the team in the establishment of KPIs and develop reporting mechanisms.
Assignment Period: 06/2023 – 07/2023
Working time scope: 20 days, potentially extendable based on project needs

Job Requirements:

Your Qualification / Skills

  • Bachelor /Master’s degree (minimum requirement) in business administration or related fields,
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written,
  • Ability to work online and be comfortable in handling pressure,
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Your Working Experience

  • More than five years of experience delivering investment readiness support for seed or similar investments,
  • More than three years of experience conducting market research, identifying potential investors, and creating detailed business plans,
  • Experience in supporting companies with digital business models is a plus.
