Job Description:

Zuqualla Horti PLC is located around Ejersa, 10km far away from Modjo. The company produces both strawberry & Ornamental Cutting for export to Global Market; Currently we employ around 550 workers throughout the year and additional seasonal workers in high production season. The company is situated at Oromia Region, Eastern Shoa Zone: Lume Wereda, Muda and Bika Kebele.

Zuqualla Horti PLC would like to invite the competent and qualified applicant for the following position:

Duties and Responsibilities of HR. Manager Assistant

  • In coordination with concerned department/department managers, assist the recruitment process as per HR Manual policy, CBA and the labor law.
  • Prepare vacancy announcements based on specific job descriptions and skill requirements internally and externally.
  • Receive job applications, coordinate, make short listing and arrange assessments/interviews are conducted within a reasonable time.
  • Prepare employment minutes based on the recommendations of panel members and secure approval of the HR Manager. 
  • Facilitate the preparation of offer letter or employment contract, organize adequate inductions for new joiners and prepare recruitment status report on monthly basis. 
  • Ensure that all new employees are registered with the pension scheme and appropriate records are created or updated with PEOSSA.
  • Coordinate and facilitate issuance of ID cards to staff members who don’t have Zuqualla Horti PLC ID.
  • Keep and maintain up dated personnel files of Zuqualla Horti PLC staffs. 
  • Follow up end dates of employee’s probation period, contract expiry dates and remind HR Department/ line managers/ immediate supervisors for proper action. 
  • Conduct and properly manage Refreshment trainings, assess the Capacity development needs, compile the personal development requests of all staff.
  • Any question regarding to the company that rise by the workers should be answer and report to the General Manager etc.
  • Facilitates Communication between workers, staff and management.
  • Scan and replace daily and seasonal workers are gone.
  • Follow up semi annual performance evaltuations
  • Any Other duties/responsibilities/ given by HR manager.
  • Replace the HR. Manager in his absence.
  • Oversee and coordinate time keepers for daily absenteeism report.

Report to:  HR Manager

Age Limit: Between 25– 40 years old

Term of Employment: Permanent

Duty Station:  Bika Kebele. Transport is available from Adama & Modjo  

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Educational back ground:

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management or Other Management related fields.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skill in English & Amharic, Oromifa is a pre.
  • Major computer skill MS word, excel, outlook etc.

Personal Qualities: 

  •  Discipline, team spirit, ability to deal with people, able to work under stressful situations, flexible, patience, sociable & high endurance.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 -5years
  • Experience in horticulture would be advantage as well as experience with HR related software
