Senior Electrician

Background of the company  

Hadeed Trading plc is a company established in the year 2003 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia which is involved in manufacturing, export, import and distribution of different types of products. Hadeed entered the manufacturing sector by opening a galvanizing plant in 2005 and also started supplying home appliances for the local market in 2007. In 2018 Hadeed Trading entered the coffee export sector and quickly became one of the top exporters of top quality coffee in Ethiopia.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Repairs problems of machinery electrical parts.
• Inspects and carries out fault diagnosis on defective electrical parts.
• Inspects and tests cable and wiring connections for any malfunctions.
• Fixes the problems identified.
• Participates in the weekly, monthly and annual plant general cleaning and maintenance programs.
• Observes safety rules and regulations while performing his/her duties.
• Inspects the log book for any electrical problems encountered during the other shift and continue for any remaining works.
• Inspects machinery and equipment for proper operation and eliminates any problems noticed.
• Records and reports the daily maintenance and repair activities.
• Performs other similar duties as may be assigned by superior.

Competencies

• Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
• Attain and maintain required certifications.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Effectively work in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to urgent repairs.

Qualifications:

• College diploma in Electrical Engineering, college diploma and TVET in Electricity.
• 2 years’ work experience for Diploma in Electrical Engineering and 6 years of work experience for College Diploma in Electricity and 8 years of experience for TVET Diploma.
