Job Description:

Job Summary:

Responsible for the accurate room and events booking of the hotel in order to maximize the revenue in which should be in line with the business objective. Manage online booking actively through continuous and update analysis of the competition.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • Manage and lead the reservation team through day-to-day operations, as well as strategically provide to achieve financial goals.
  • Be fully aware of the room booking in the market and avail demands in order to maximize the Hotel Sales with the standard/projected average Room Rate.
  • Ensure that all reservations are recorded on standard forms attached with the concerned correspondence, and they are filed by arrival date in easily accessible Files.
  • Ensure that Incoming e-mails and faxes requiring a reply are answered with minimum delay, and whenever possible the same hours of received.
  • Consult the General Manager in the business trends in the city with regards to room reservation
  • the sales office with the hotel availability accordingly.
  • Fully responsible of the Tour Operators / Travel Agents correspondence regarding reservation decisions especially in the critical periods, allotment Increase, stop sales, release period amendment
  • Advise the Guest service director of reservations, which are particularly noteworthy, so a decision can be taken in regard of the Room Rate and the V.I.P Status.
  • Conduct daily / weekly and monthly property performance review.
  • Provide, implement, survey and follow-up strategic and tactical action.
  • To ensure that all Rooming lists for the group’s reservations are received on time and accurately inserted into OPERA
  • To ensure that all the Definite reservations are guaranteed, to minimize the last minute non-guaranteed cancellations.
  • To sell most of the Hotel Outlets and facilities whenever possible.
  • Oversee revenue management and distribution strategy of the hotel and manage day-to-day yield operations.
  • Daily pick-up analysis, strategy adjustments and reporting.
  • Perform competitive benchmark studies and follow market trends.
  • Create and develop pricing strategies in conjunction with the individuality of each hotel.
  • Provide a weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances and budget comparisons.
  • Manage and oversee strategy for all 3rd party distribution
  • Responsible for assessing, analyzing and pricing group business strategies
  • Analyze overall monthly hotel performance and provide a summary report with recommendations to improve long-term strategies.
  • Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated and working to full capacity
  • Ensure web site booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional.
  • Ensure hotel personnel is fully competent in the use of all systems
  • Regularly check the input and the quality of data (segmentation, denials tracking, etc…) points.
  • Prepare an outline for and support the annual revenue budget process.
  • Advise and coach the client in other operational areas.
Job Requirements:

Minimum Selection Criteria:

  • Bachelor Degree in a related field of study from accredited institution of higher education
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Reservation & Revenue Manager for an international brand Hotels
  • Strong communication skills (both spoken & written - English/Amharic Languages)
  • Computer literate and expert in MS Office applications
  • Ability to produce results on time and accurately
  • Expertise in 'Channel Manager' as well as 'Extranet'
  • Opera PMS System is mandatory.
