Job Description:

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

 Night Manager will represent the Management during the night. The Night Manager also assists the Front Office Manager in all aspects of the department including but not limited to operations, planning, budgeting, staffing and payroll in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.

 The Night Manager provides leadership and support to all members of the Front Office and enforces the Hotels Standards of Excellence in all areas supervised. H/she must be able to perform the full night audit and summary reports.

TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and monitor activities of all employees during the night shift.
  • Direct and oversee all hotel operations during the night shift to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
  • Conduct Briefing for all staff during Night Shift.
  • Inform all Overnight staff of nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests.
  • Check accommodations, making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly, greet guests upon arrival and ensure escort to accommodations if appropriate.
  • Maintain a professional and high-quality service-oriented environment at all times.
  • Manage the night shift in the department ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate Front Office activities with other departments.
  • Required to welcome our guests to the hotel in a friendly and helpful manner, ensure that the public areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Occasionally Assist guests with their luggage, be a point of contact for our guests, valet park guests’ cars and other responsibilities to ensure all requirements are met during our guests stay.
  • Must actively participate in the decision-making process on guest relocation for nights when overcapacity, execute accordingly and ensure a smooth relocation process. This effort must be coordinated with the Front Office Supervisor and/or Manager on Duty prior to shift start.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, assigning nightly work, conducting training, conducting counselling’s and evaluations, and delivering recognition and also reward.
  • Ensure the accurate completion of the daily night audit in a timely fashion.
  • Must be able to perform the full night audit. Checks front office accounting records for accuracy and, on a daily basis, summarizes and compiles information for the hotel's financial records. Tracks room revenue, occupancy percentages, and other front-office operating statistics.
  • Prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities, reflecting the hotel's financial performance for the day. Posts room charges and room taxes to guest accounts including guest transactions not posted during the day by the front office cashier.
  • Oversee preparation of daily summary reports.
  • Should Show Initiative, Problem Solving, Staff Training, and Team Leading.
  • Work closely with the Housekeeping Department to improve guest services and foster cross-departmental communication.
  • Be aware and able to enforce all fire-life-safety procedures.
  • Remain current in all updates with regard to new procedures and training.
  • Make Frequent Visits to the Restaurants and Bars to ensure service levels and that problems are dealt with promptly.
  • Ensure that all Hotel Stores are locked.
  • Ensure the Night Staff services are Done efficiently, and up to the Standard of the Hotel Policy.
  • Keep Close to the Front Desk for giving any needed advice and supervision during the Night Hours.
  • Ensure that the Wake-up Calls is done efficiently, and as per the Required Standard.
  • Be aware of the early arrivals and departures, especially for Groups, and to supervise the Front Desk and Bell Staff preparation, Luggage Down, Air Port Pick Up, Breakfast, Wake up Calls, and other required facilities.
  • With the Engineering on Duty, check Hotel Refrigerators, Boiler room and Power station.
  • Inspect staff cafeteria cleanliness and that Night Meal is served during the allowed Time in a smooth atmosphere.
  • Report any suspicious persons, activities, and/or hazardous conditions to the Security department and/or the General Manager.
  • To record any activities to the management in the Night Manager report that can be handled by Front Office Supervisor the next morning.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the management/immediate supervisor.

In addition to the above performance of essential functions, this position requires performing the combination of other supportive functions as determined by the General Manager of BonRoyal Hotel
