ABOUT CVM - Comunità Volontari per il mondo

Comunità Volontari per il Mondo (CVM) is a non-profit making Christian Organization based in Ancona, Italy. It was founded in 1978 by a group of people who had deeply dedicated but also had the concern to help people in their struggle to exist in this world irrespective of who are and where they are from. Comunità Volontari per il Mondo(CVM) has been working in Ethiopia since 1995, focusing its work on water, hygiene, and sanitation, HIV prevention, and control through socio-health interventions, promotion of social policies and human rights, promoting social inclusion and minority rights, support for training and access to education, leather sector, socio-economic and micro-credit development, decent work for Domestic Workers and safe migration. CVM is implementing diverse projects in different regions of Ethiopia.

 

Main Duites & Responsibilities:

·       Prepare and design technical details, data and project proposals on the schemes to be constructed

·       Give technical input to the project team and supervise work contracts

·       Prepare specifications for works to be done and check the quality of construction materials and equipment procured

·       Manage the process of procurement of materials and equipment

·       Closely follow up on the accomplishments of the construction works and follow up on technical trainings

·       Assist supervisors in the preparation of progress reports on a monthly basis, quarterly, annual and bi-annual

·       Prepare other program documents as may be required

·       Ensures close collaboration and coordination with cooperating partners to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results as specified in project agreements

·       Ensure that project activities and all construction are in accordance with norms and standards of the donor, Government and CVM, as well as according to available budget lines and limitations.

·       Ensure through continuous monitoring that the project impacts in the Program are sustainable according to the Project’s Logical Framework

·       Assist supervisors in quarterly impact assessment and reporting to supervisor and Country Office

·       Monitor the delivery of supplies and equipment, the budget utilization of the projects, and promote good documentation of the data collected in the projects

·       Supervise store movements and make sure that materials are efficiently and effectively utilized in the sites of the project area and according to the CVM Branch Office store management

·       Support all the office staff in keeping appropriate documentation regarding water schemes, trainings, different database

Job Requirements:

Job Requirements

I. Required Qualifications and Professional Experience

·       B.Sc. degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent field of studies

II. Required Skills & Competencies

·       Application of MS Excel in Engineering and, general MS office skills

·       Good communication and relations with people

·       Good English competence

III. General requirement

·       Availability to work and travel in rural and remote areas
