Job Summary

The Training and Development Officer is responsible for performing training needs assessments, designing and delivering curriculum and learning materials, and for managing all phases of training interventions. Under the supervision of the Human Resource Manager , the Training and Development Officer contributes to the development of innovative staff development policies, programs/activities, training methods, materials and solutions, and effectively coordinates training initiatives in the company.

 DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifying training and development needs of all departments in the company and preparing appropriate learning and training strategies, plans and/or programs to meet the needs;
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates the overall training and development programs within the framework of the department's formal Comprehensive Training Plan and  gathering feedback from the trainees in order to constantly improve the services delivered;
  • Conducts needs analysis and research relative to new training and staff development programs for departmental application; conducts periodic needs assessment surveys to determine need for and scope of programs at all employee levels and to monitor the impact of the learning activities and to evaluate the overall program effectiveness
  • Reviews employee classifications including the knowledge, skills and abilities and ensures that the training plan meets the technical and supervisory needs of the department and are aligned with the department's strategic plan, and mission statement.
  • Preparing and updating high quality training material and training reports.
  • Periodically evaluate ongoing training programs to ensure that they are relevant to organizational needs, and provide reports to Human Resource Manager
  • Designing and delivering curriculum and learning materials.
  • Contribute to the development, update and review of training and learning organizational policies.
  • Ensure that the planned training programs stay within budget
  • Answer employee questions and inquiries related to training and development programs and resolve any training-related issues if they arise
  • Documents all technical and leadership training that is provided throughout the department.
  • Conduct additional tasks assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Academic & Professional Qualification

  • An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in educational planning and management, business or public administration, or a related area is required.
  • Additional certificate / experience in health related field is desirable.  
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in related job.

  • Assess areas of staff development and training needs
  • Build training content, develop lesson plans, and create effective training guides
  • Plan, develop, conduct, and evaluate training and development programs in a variety of occupational areas
  • Learn the operations, organizational structure and staffing of assigned department
  • Select and adapt available material and to prepare original material for training needs.
  • Perform a formal training needs analysis
  • Create a formal comprehensive training program
  • Write and speak effectively and develop multimedia presentations to present material to diverse audiences
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and others
  • Plan, direct, and evaluate the work of subordinate staff engaged in administering a training and development program
  • Determine cost/benefit analysis and return on investment of training and its effectiveness
  • Problem solve.
