Driver

The Embassy of Switzerland in Ethiopia is currently advertising one (1) position of Driver to the Defense Attaché. The modalities of employment and application for the advertised position include the following elements:

The position will be based at the Embassy of Switzerland in Old Airport, Addis Ababa.

Duties and competences that come along with this position:

• Safe and professional transport of the Defence Attaché and Embassy staff respectively,
• Ensuring vehicle is Health and Safety compliant.
• Planning routes to venues.
• Provide support during in-country and regional trips, including planning routes, arranging visits. Ensuring vehicle is properly equipped for up-country travel;
• When not driving, support the Defence Attaché and Embassy Team respectively with e.g. delivering correspondence, procurement, logistic arrangements.
• Looking after vehicle of Defence Attaché – manage all the required supplies for the vehicle, car maintenance, cleaning and its regular service (incl. maintenance of log books and fuel supplies).
• Can be asked to perform other tasks by the Defense Attaché.

Administrative Unit & Duty Station: Embassy of Switzerland in Ethiopia (Addis Ababa)

Qualifications

• Technical training relevant for logistics and driving of vehicles
• Excellent knowledge of the Addis Ababa transport network

Professional experience:

• Minimum of five (5) years relevant driving experience in logistics, car driving, messenger assignments, preferably with an international organisation or Government institution

Skills:

• Basic level of English, both oral and written;
• Self- starter, quick learner, team-player;
• Ability to adapt and respond to changing circumstances;
• Good communication skills.
• High level of integrity.
