PURPOSE

The Product & Solutions Specialist ensures the effective functional adoption of Amadeus system, products and solutions at the travel agency customer site. The Products & Solutions Specialist is active for a defined set of Customers, for a specific time-period of the lifetime of the customer, to maximize adoption and loyalty from the travel agents.

ROLE SUMMARY

  • The candidate will be required to manage a portfolio of Amadeus Products & Solutions and will manage the product roll-out and implementation process with appropriate customer training, pilots and requisite functional support for all solutions under the assigned portfolio under the supervision and management of the Solutions Manager.
  • He / She will act as the main contact point with the travel agency customer for the delivery & adoption of a range of Amadeus products and solutions, through on-site functional “floor-walking” and training of travel agency consultants.
  • In conjunction with the commercial teams, be required to constantly evaluate the solutions pipelines and prepare solution workshops and roadshows for various market segments
  • Ensure through regular product training of the commercial and local teams that the right solutions are positioned to the right customers under the solutions portfolio
  • Promote and present Amadeus GDS and its products
  • Advice and consult with customers on how to use Amadeus products, provide guidance on product usage and adoption.
  • Serve as Amadeus product users’ point of contact and ensure timely resolution of reported functional and technical first level product utilization difficulties.
  • Increase customer usage and adoption.
  • Monitor and report to the Regional Helpdesk on functional/ product related issues.
  • Provide weekly planning and reporting on activities to Regional Sales Manager / Operations Manager using the different Amadeus tools and reporting methods.

Job Requirements:

COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

Competences:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; capable of interfacing with customers at all levels.
  • Ability to build credibility and to keep good relationship with customers while preserving
  • Amadeus’ interests.
  • Ability to conduct customized on-site training to travel agency consultants.
  • Capacity to stay up-to-date with product & solutions evolutions and portfolio expansion.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to multi-task, and to work to deadlines, perseverance.
  • Organized and methodic approach to the problems

Relevant Knowledge & experience:

  • University degree or equivalent field experience (preferably in IT, customer support, service delivery).
  • 4-5 years’ experience of working in a Travel Industry IT customer facing environment.
  • Knowledge of Amadeus, airline and/or travel agency products and services highly appreciated
  • IT knowledge functional level. Comfortable with IT jargon and on-line world
  • PC skills: Microsoft office (word, PPT, excel)
  • Language: English and Amharic a must
