Job Description:

Performing autonomously, specific complex / advanced installation, maintenance works and repairs depending on technician’s specialization (requiring special/qualifications/training), according to supervisor’s instructions and MSF standards and procedures, in order to ensure a proper functioning and maintenance of MSF equipment, installations and infrastructures.

Accountabilities:

•             Performing autonomously, all necessary complex / advanced installations, maintenance and repairs (i.e. requiring special qualifications/training), according to the supervisor’s instructions and executes any needed tests after any repair or maintenance.

•             Making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in MSF ICT installations and assisting ICT department for any relative work needed.

•             Managing the inventory of ICT equipment and tools, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventories.

•             Schedule and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.

•             Immediately informing the line manager of any problems that arise in the course of the work, particularly with regard to damage.

•             Providing user support with collaboration of ICT supervisor educational support (briefing, training and support, etc.) dealing with IT and Telecom systems;

•             Field visits to the site(s) as advised by ICT Supervisor;

•             Assess ICT materials and services in the local market.

•             Regular check of the office backup system.

•             Involve in the enrollment of new windows environment.

Performing any other task, specific to his/her area of specialty, as defined in his/her job description and according to the line manager.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:

·        Prepare all the necessary material for the intervention in Tigray, following the MSF standards

·        Respond to the ITC needs of the new staff of the emergency Unit

·        Be in constant contact with the Emergency unit logco

·        Troubleshoot Tigray Intervention Users

·        Keep an exhaustive control of the ITC materials that exist in the Tigray intervention

·        Carry out possible field visits, in Tigray, to give technical support

Job Requirements:

Education

Essential diploma or recognized formal training in the assigned technical area

Experience

•             Demonstrate experience in his/her technical area (minimum 2 years’ experience)

•             Essential at least two years previous working experience. Desirable in MSF or other NGOs

Languages       

Local language essential, mission language desirable.
